Technique Thursday

It is Thursday, which means I will highlight a technique. This one is pretty simple, but I hope it will inspire you! I thought I would share with you border punches. While I only have 3 actual border punches (SU Scallop, SU Spiral, and Fiskars Threading Water), EK Success corner rounders are great for making more scalloped edges, just take off the guide!
I used the large purple corner rounder for the striped paper, the SU Scallop for the yellow paper, Threading Water for the sprinkles paper, the medium pink corner rounder for both sides of the multi-colored paper, and the SU Spiral for the left edge of the red paper. I also used the SU Scallop punch to make the little yellow rectangle. This takes some practice, but it is mostly just eyeballed to make it go all the way around. I used all BG Cupcake pp, letters, and buttons. I also used Glossy Accents on CAGES to make it show up better.
Again, make a layout using your border punches, and leave me a comment with a link to it, and come Sunday, I will share it!
I also got a couple challenges done over at Scrapbook Challenges.
This was a Photoshop Challenge, Color Your World, a tutorial showing us how to color part of the photo.
This is the original photo.
This is what I ended up with after putting the color back into some of it. I am thinking I have too much color in there. I had to do the kids, and loved the blue sky against the green hill, plus I colored the water in front of the kids.
This is the layout I did using the edited photo.
I used DCWV cs, photo mat is Bazzill, all patterned paper is October Afternoon Ducks In A Row, BG letters, Target Dollar Spot chipboard letters, MME die cut, and Imaginisce rubons.
Another SC challenge, Anything But Flowers, including pp. I used MM Garden Party die cut paper, MM Paperie journal and pp, the backs of Scrapworks Shimmer stars which I inked with SU Pacific Point, chipboard photo corner inked with SU Kiwi Kiss, Daisy Bucket rubons (on clearance at LSS for .75!), BG Sultry brads, MM tag frames, and Target Dollar Spot cb letters.
Sunday, we are taking off to the beach for a 2-night stay, ON THE BEACH!! OK, maybe not on the actual beach, but in a hotel along the beach with a great view! I am going with Laura and all 5 of the kids. It will be a great time, I can't wait!
I just realized that may put a kink into my blog schedule. I will do my best to have them scheduled in advance. If you have your layouts that you do during the week to me by Sat, I will get them posted for Sunday!
