Lots Going On

Let's get right to business, lol!!
This is for Inkadink, thier 2nd challenge, travel inspired. I chose pics from CKC Seattle last year, do you think we had enough luggage??? Notice the bellhop's cart? Keep in mind we both had our hand full to the brim with even more stuff!!!
I used Bazzill cs, Around The Block pp, MM Notworthy die cut, Jenni Bowlin journaling square, Felt Fusion, Technique Tuesday Wayfarer stamps, American Crafts Thickers, Prima and silk flowers, and buttons.
I couldn't get the colors right for the Thickers, so I brought out 2 Staz On inks and kept playing in it till the color got as close as I could get it before they dried, which on those vinyl letters, took a couple minutes!
This one is for KJ Starre's blog challenge. Use 5 stamps on one layout, 1 of them being stamped background. I hope this works and doesn't look too crowded or busy! I used Bazzill cs and Cosmo Cricket Get Happy pp. Stamps are below.
These are the stamps I used, Autum Leaves flower and flourish, Technique Tuesday Storytellers-Ledger, TT Hanging By A Thread, and TT Borderline-Straight and Narrow.
Done with challenges for now, onto my late bday gift from my brother in Idaho...a $10 gift card to Michaels, and a card!
I also got some stamped images from a swap on AMR. I had to drop out of it due to lack of supplies to make decent images. Guess what? They sent them to me anyway!! How sweet and awesome is that?!
I also got a RAK from Use Your Stash! It is Teresa Collins Spooktacular stuff. There are page protectors, chipboard covers for a mini book, and some 8x8 printed paper. It is all prepunched for the Bind-It-All! Luckily tigardlilly has one I can use whenever I want!
I have been busy the last 2.5 months, since I moved back in with the parents. These 2 albums, minus the first 7 layouts, have been done since moving in. That is a total of 97 layouts in 2.5 months!! My albums are officially full, so from now on my completed layouts will just be stacked on top of each other, or at least till I can afford to buy another album-or 2!!! Problem #2....where will I put said new albums, I am officially out of room too!!
I gotta get going, I have to leave in an hour, still have to shower, to meet tigardlilly for happy hour dinner then off to the Rose Quarter to see.......WEEZER!!! We are very excited. I got an email from the alternative station in town that one day last week, tickets will be on sale for $10.00 (normally $45)!! Well, after the ticket surcharge of $7.50 then the normal booking fees, we still got our tickets for just under 20 bucks each! I cannot wait and am sure to have lots of great, well maybe not great, but lots of pics to share!!

Stuff

First off, I am sorry if this post seems dull, I am not doing well tonight. I was hoping to get more layouts done to share, but it didn't happen! I did get another layout done, and I think it rocks, but it will have to wait till next Monday!!
Here is the end of my magazine archiving! It only took about 8 hours, and I found lots of inspiration!! Of course I realized through all of this, I never received my September CK, so I have emailed them and am still awaiting a response-ugh!!
This is a technique challenge over at Southern Breezes, a blog associated with Scrapbook Cafe in NJ (where I won layout of the month). The challenge was to do some masking. All I could find was my KI Memories lace cardstock, then used my Glimmer Mist! I love how it turned out! Bonus is, I now have a ready to go glimmered piece of the lace cardstock! Tattered Angels has great customer service by the way! My bottle nozzle leaks really bad, and they are sending me a new bottle!
Here is the completed layout using the masking technique! In addtion to the masking, I also used Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine 8x8 paper, Jenni Bowlin Journal Square, a regular silk flower, a Bazzill flower, and Prima flowers, misc ribbon and brads, and the background is Bazzill Dotted Swiss cardstock!
Here is a card I made for my Dad's birthday! It is very simple, but manly-I hope! I used Bazzill cs, BG Granola, Studio G stamps, misc ribbon, and skittles. I pop-dotted the cut out circles for some dimension.
I recieved this RAK on Saturday, it is from an AMR member for our pay it forward RAK. When someone posts something to give, you pick one of their offers, then offer 2 of your own for someone else to pick from. I picked these Autumn Leaves 8x8 papers, and someone else picked my Prima flowers! It is pretty cool!

It's Monday!

Monday in my world means the reveal of another sketch and more challenges at Scrapbook Challenges (SBC)! Pamela has another great sketch this week!
Sketch 109
Here is what I came up with for it. I used Bazzill cs, Dream Street pp, Bazzill and Prima flowers, misc buttons and brads, naked chipboard letters, and BG ribbon.
This is the replacement layout for the Green, White and Blue color scheme challenge. I used All BG paper, Boxer and Urban Prairie, Bazzill cs for title, KI Memories lace cs, misc ribbon and buttons, and used a friends Cuttlebug for the title. That brings me to mind, if any of you have any suggestions on taking photos of your layouts so they are "dimensionalized", I would love to hear your ideas!
.
If you are liking these challenges, you really should hop over to SBC and check them out! I am not saying this because I have to (because I don't), but because I think it is a fun place to hang out and a great opportunity to challenge yourself and maybe win a prize!! This week's challenges, other than the sketch are White Space and Use Lace. They both look fantastic! Remember, you have until the end of the month to do any of the challenges to get in on the monthly drawing! You can find past challenges here.
Another fun thing about SBC, is Pamela pics a layout from one of the members each week to highlight...This week she chose my 19 houses layout-Woo Hoo, thanks Pamela!
.
Ok, I hate to admit this, but I haven't looked through my magazines for months!! I really enjoy looking through them, but for some reason just hadn't done it. So I am playing catch up!!
When I see something in a mag, I always forget where I saw it and end up looking through the whole pile and wind up giving up on finding it. I have heard of people tearing out pages they like and putting them in a binder, but I cannot tear up my magazine-GASP!!!! I decided to "flag" the pages. More than that, I have categorized my flags for quicker and easier reference. I am sure I am not the only person to do this, but it is new to me so I am excited!
Here is my pile of unread magazines!!
March-August CK
May-October Simple Scrapbooks
January-September Memory Makers
June-September Papercrafts

Here is my flagging system. I have cut strips out of Post-It notes in a few different colors, and am also coloring the ends of the yellow ones with highlighters. When I see something I like, I used the corresponding "flag" and mark my page! So far I have done 5 mags, 1/4 of the pile, lol! I think I will be able to do this each month. Not only will I stay caught up on the latest fads, but I can justify all those subscription costs!! LOL

For the record, this picture is NOT crooked. My BG magnetic mat is hanging by the whole in one corner of the mat, so it is crooked, lol! .
One more fun little tidbit, one of the gals on SBC makes little icons/banners for whatever you want, there is even a thread just for that! She has tons of them predone, and I downloaded a lot of them. She has a cute one that says Scrapbooking, cheaper than therapy! That is so true, but I wanted one with colors that matched my blog. She made me one, and it REALLY matches my blog, the colors, the pattern, the font! That is way more than I expected, and it is so awesome! I have the banner at the top of my blog, and the icon on the left side bar!

Finally Moved In!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got moved in, YAY! I hate moving, but who doesn't right? It is especially hard when you will be living in one room. I had to put my scraproom in my bedroom, which is pretty small, note how close the bed is to my table. This is my mom's sewing table, that I am now using since she had to move all her sewing stuff out-thanks mom!

.
.
.
.
Since I am moved and set up, I got to catch up on some challenges I have been wanting to do. This one was for Use Your Stash. The challenge was to use stamps on a layout, and make a card. I wanted to use these BG scraps I had, and these pictures of my neice were the right color, and so much fun! I scribbled over her name in photoshop, that is pretty much all I know how to do! lol I used Technique Tuesday "Two Steppin' In The Garden" stamps, and some Autumn Leaves for the flourishes. I used Stickles over it for a little punch.
.
.
This is the card I made for the same challenge, same BG line, Phresh & Phunky. I used Studio G stamps for the greeting. I made 2 of these, for a couple AMR buddies who won a challenge I did on there. I used Stickles again!
.
.
This was done for a challenge over at To The Starres And Back... The challenge was to use at least 9 blocks, I used the grid method with 12 blocks. We were to use at least 2 printed papers, I used 4 from Scribble Scrabble. We were to use multiple photos, I used 5 and put them in a grid pattern as well. We were supposed to also use 4 stickers. This was difficult, as I just packed up all my stickers since I don't ever use them, I borrowed from tigardlilly. We were also supposed to have handwriting and stiching. The stiched "splash" just sort of happened, I used multiple flourishes from Bazzill's In Stiches templates. I love how it turned out. What, no Stickles??? I guess I don't use them on everything! This was the first whale I ever saw, and I saw it at the Sea Lion Caves on the central/southern Oregon Coast. It was a gray whale, and it was awesome!!

.

This Challenge is for a new challenge blog, The Story Matters. The challenge was to do a page about you, anything you want. I chose to do the page about me and accepting myself, as well as the horrible pictures of myself. CS is DCWV, PP is October Afternoon, Detours. Chipboard Frame is Scenic Route, which I covered in Bazzill, inked and Stamped with Technique Tuesday stamps and Stickled. Journaling stickers are Scenic Route, ribbon is Scrapworks and MM, arrow is Grungeboard-inked and Stickled. MM noteworthy with TT stamps for "me". Circle is TT Technique Tiles, inked and stamped with TT. Flowers are unknown.

.
.
Over at AMR, there have been challenges while Stacey is gone at CHA, they are calling them "While The Cat's Away" Challenges.

Here is #1
The challenge was to use printed paper that is at least 6 months old, I used Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl. We were supposed to use at least 5 eyelets, fiber, and stickers (what is it with stickers, grr!). Sorry my pic is blurry, I haven't quite mastered the macro setting on my camera.
.

.
This was challenge #2

The challenge was to use the color orange, 3 buttons, chipboard and ribbon. Most of the supplies are self-explanatory, the chipboard is the pp covered birdie, and the flower, which I also stamped on. I Stickled the bird, and both flowers. The paper is Dream Street.

.

This is challenge #3

We were supposed to get a start on our Christmas cards, I only did one, for the challenge. I used printed paper scraps from a slab. I Stickled the dots on the tree, and again on the snowflakes. I also used some dyed skittles I got from Laura.

.

So, that is what I have been up to! There is so much catch up to do with blogs, challenges, message boards, etc. Now that I have the internet in my room now, I should be getting a lot more done and posted. Thanks for looking!

My New Scrap Corner

So, here was my scrap corner before.
Here is hubby helping me with my new wall name.
Here is my couch and coffee table, covered in my scrap supplies that were on top of the table and shelves.
TA DA!! Here is my new space. It isn't a whole lot different, but I was able to bring a lot of my goodies out to make them more available, and spread my cramped supplies out more so it is easier to get to. I also pulled out my under-cabinet lights I bought almost 2 years ago, they really help light up my table.
These are my new file cabinets. Full of stuff already!
I bought a wire shelf system on clearance a few months ago, and just got around to using it. Unfortunately, most the hardware was missing, as was part of the rod to hang the racks on. I pulled out an old curtain rod and used zipties to attach to my shelf bracket. I know it is ghetto, but it works for now. This allowed me to make my own version of a clip-it-up using jump rings and binder clips (more ghetto).
Here is one side of my scrap table.

The other side of my scrap table.
This is the cabinet on the left side of my table. It is pretty much the same, just moved all my altered projects to the basket to the right of my new filing cabinets, and it is less crowded inside. I love this cabinet, eventhough it is ugly!
Just for fun, here are the boys, cuddling up in a box!

Another fun note, it hardly ever thunder and lightnings here, it is right now though. I love the sounds! I have my back door open, and am enjoying listening to the rumbling!

My Scrap Corner

So I finally got my Scrap Corner cleaned up and usable. I messed it up right away of course. But I keep it cleaned up every night, well mostly! My brother and sister-in-law gave me their old computer, so now all I need is the Silhouette! I sit here everyday, thinking of something to create. I haven't done an actual layout in sometime. I have been doing a lot of altered things lately. I made some holiday planners, which were fun! I am working on some chipboard word books, and a chipboard perpetual calendar. I miss layouts, but I am lacking pictures-actually the money to develop them. I have over 400 pictures ready for printing. I need to still do a "photo shoot" of my brother and sister-in-law for a special project I am working on, shhhhh, it is a secret! Someday I will get my mojo back, so I can enjoy scrappin' again.
