Wednesday Hump Day Fun

I thought it would be perfect to start our first Hump Day Fun, with a quiz of sorts. I got the idea from Jingle, and thought it would be fun! It is a great way to get to know my readers.
I am going to ask you 10 questions, and you can answer them by leaving a comment!
.
1. What made you decide to read my blog on a regular basis? Do you subscribe, follow via my blog, bookmark it, etc?
2. What is your favorite scrappy product/manufacturer?
3. How would you describe your scrappy style?
4. What message boards do you participate in?
5. Do you have any animals? What are they, how many, what are their names?
6. Are you married, kids, single, etc?
7. What is your favorite thing to drink?
8. What is your favorite food? What is your least favorite?
9. What is your favorite color/scheme?
10. Do I have your blog in my blog roll? If not, let me know and I will add you!
.
Now for some regular bloggy business...
I got a couple blog awards, that I want to share.
This one is from Cher. I feel so honored to receive this one!
Here are the rules:
1. Accept the award, post it on your blog, together with the name of the person who gave it to you, and his/her blog link.
2. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you've newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

I got this one back in April, and forgot all about it. I was tagged twice with this one, Annie and Sookie from Scrapbook Challenges.
Here are the rules:
1. Make a list of what you want for your Birthday.
2. The list should be 10 items
3. Include the image of the award on your post
4. Give it to 10 friends.
Even though my birthday isn't till October, this should still be fun! :)
1. All 4 Twilight Books
2. Bind-It-All
3. Quikutz Download Card
4. iPod

As If The Weekend Wasn't Enough...

...I got lots more scrappin' done today! I have been on a roll, but now I don't have any more challenges to work on! I guess that means it is time to get to work on more ATCs!!
.
AMR Weekly Card Challenge, Butterfly groupings.
I used Bazzill cs, October Afternoon pp, Studio G stamp, Technique Tuesday stamp, some other butterfly stamps/sentiment (I don't remember what they are called), and Kaiser Crafts pearls.
This was the Color Challenge for May at AMR. Use shades of blue, deep brown and cream.
I used all Basic Grey Granola pp-perfect for this color scheme, Thickers, Around the Block paper scrap, and some buttons.
I used Bazzill cs, Cosmo Cricket Snorkel pp, and Thickers.
Here is one of the art pieces to inspire us. I went with the bright colors, square layout and circles in the squares.
SC True Colors Challenge, using a color, a B&W, and a sepia photo.
I used Bazzill cs, Sassafras Lass pp, Cosmo Cricket rubons, Imaginisce rubons/pearls, Prima and silk flowers, Kaiser Crafts pearls, and some Thickers
SC Hide and Seek Challenge, use hidden journaling.
I used DCWV cs, Cricut pp and cs, Magic Mesh, silk flowers, SEI brads, bulk brads, ribbon scrap, Thickers, and MM itty bitty letters.
And of course the hidden journaling.
SC Butterfly Challenge, also had to have at least one flower.
I used all Basic Grey Sultry pp, letters, brads, and chipboard. The flowers are Cuttlebug scallop circles and the butterflies are Cuttlekids Fairy Tale Alphabet.
SC Photoshop Challenge, Burn The Edge. She gave us a tutorial on how to burn edges, then we can make a layout with the new photo and get an extra entry into the monthly drawing! Here is the orignal photo.
And here is the layout I did. I used Pink Paislee Vintage Moon and Fetching pp, Thickers (the 2nd E, R and S are creating using other letters), dyed "skittles, Story of Us chipboard buttons, and an unknown frame.
The sponsor this month over at Scrapbook Challenges is Studio Calico, and they have generously given us 2 different add-on kits from thier awesome monthly kits! Remember, you get an entry into the drawing for every sketch or challenge you complete (current for the month). Starting this month, we are adding 3 new challenges as well, a Photoshop challenge, a digi challenge, and a technique challenge (posted by me)! If you enjoy challenges, you really gotta check it out!!
.
So, AMR decided to stop doing the weekly royal challenges, and are going to be on a monthly basis from now on. Since they are no longer doing them, they went ahead and crowned thier Queens of each challenge category (which I didn't get, I only won 3). Apparently, there is a Queen honor for the person who completes the most challenges-I found out today that I am THE QUEEN OF CROP!! How cool is that?!
So that is all I have for today! There probably isn't going to be much to blog about, since there are no more challenges and I will be busy with ATCs. I will share those as I complete them though, you can count on it! Thanks for stoppin' by!

Just A Little To Share Today

First off, I got this blog award back in January from a fellow DT member, Jen. I feel so bad I forgot to share it, I starred it and forgot all about it. I just found it in my Google Reader starred items, and so I must share my blog award and pass it on!! Thanks Jen!
I must list 5 addictions, and pass it on to 5 blogs!!
.
1. Scrapbooking, HELLO!!
2. Twilight, in all shapes and forms
3. Mexican food
...I am having a hard time coming up with non-scrapbooking things, lol
4. Music
5. Diet Coke
.
Now, I tag these 5 great bloggers...
.
This was another challenge at Scrapbook Challenges this week, Bold and Beautiful.
The challenge was to use a bold earthy pp and then some beautiful "springy" pp.
I used some old We R Memory Keepers pp for the bold earthy tone, then BG Sultry pp for the springy paper. I also used some BG Sultry chipboard, letters, and brads, with some (mostly) Prima flowers.
.
I told you it was just a little to share today! I am saving up some challenges to work on, I am going to a 2-day crop tomorrow (Thursday) with the girls again!! See, there are some advantages to not working, lol! I even have 100 photos on thier way to me, YAY! A friend at AMR sent me a referall to ArtsCow, I get 100 4x6 prints free every month, along with lots of other freebies, but the postage goes up on those things. I only paid $6 bucks for shipping, I can't wait till they get here. You might be able to tell from my most recent layouts, I am really scraping the bottom of the barrel for photos, lol!
.
Would any of my readers be interested in an ATC swap with me? I want to do more swaps, but a lot of the gals on the sight I normally do them on are a little wiped out with ATCs. If you are interested, leave me a comment. If there are enough people interested, I will make another post with my email (scary)!!
.
I would also love to hear all of my readers' addictions, whether it be scrapbook related or not! It can be your favorite products, your favorite food/drink, whatever, I would love to know!! One more request. I have 20 something subscribers to my blog, and curious minds want to know, who are you lovely people? If I could send all my readers a gift, I totally would! Sometimes I feel like I am sending these posts out into cyberspace and they just sit there, lol! If you don't use Google Reader, you can follow my blog from the top of my blog too! Unless the right hand column is still messed up, I gotta find some way to fix that!!
.
When I get back on Saturday, I (hopefully) will have lots more to share!! Don't forget to tell me your addictions and if you subscribe!!!

In The Groove

I feel like I am back into the groove of things! I got some challenges done, I got around to some blog awards I have forgotten about, and a couple blog games. Let's get right to it, shall we?!
.
This is the other challenge from Scrapbook Challenges that I hadn't gotten done yet on my last post, Love Letters. The challenge was to do a layout with a love letter, with your journaling being in letter form. I am such a scrap dork, that I had to write a love letter to Stickles and Basic Grey, my 2 obsessions, lol!!
I used Basic Grey's Two Scoops printed paper, stickers and letters; and Stickles-Yellow, Cotton Candy, and Crystal.
This one is for The Cuttlebug Spot. The challenge was to do a white card with a black sentiment. I used Bazzill cs, CB embossing folder Traffic Jam, the CB dies and folder I got with the CB-Celebration Stamps, Inkadinkado Stamp for the sentiment, and some ribbon.
This is for Method Playground, Hand stitch with embroidery floss. I used Basic Grey Euphoria pp and sticker letters, embroidery floss (of course), and misc flowers and buttons.
This is for a progressive challenge at All Moments Remembered. We were given the following instructions over the last week or two....
1) Pick a 12 x 12 sheet of Patterned
2) 8.5 x 11 piece of ledger paper (you can use neutral cardstock) -Your journaling will be on this sheet somewhere3) pp that coordinates with your 12 x 12 - 8in wide by 6 or 7 in long4) add two more sheets pp - 3in wide by 6 in tall each - that have text on it - Your picture will go on top of these two.-distress and ink edges of photo.5) add a file tab6) 5 small identical rubons or a stamp used 5 times7) 1 tiny piece of paper that could be a tag or a ticket, add the date (could be any date) 1 in by 2 in wide8) add a rubon flourish (or a stamped one) to #29) add 3 different colors of ribbon 8.5 in long10) add 3 buttons, 2 different types/colors
11) add a charm
12) add 2 -8.5 in x 1/2 in strips of decorative edge, but you can use a paper edge 13) add your title - use two different colors and two different fonts. Use a set of Parenthesis.14) okay that's it. You may adhere everything. One last tip - ***everything must be on the 8.5 x 11 sheet. The only thing touching the #1 should be your file tab. You must journal.***
.
I used Sassafras Lass for all my printed paper, lined paper is Scenic Route, Newspaper looking paper is October Afternoon pp, American Crafts Thickers, Jenni Bowlin letter stickers, Target Dollar Spot ribbon and SEI ribbon, cs is Bazzill, rubon is Crate Paper, Stamps are Sassafras Lass, buttons and star are miscellaneous.

Here is a close up of it, with the descriptions of where each item is.
.
Kay and Jingle shared some random photos yesterday, so I thought I would do the same, just for fun!
This is my tin of embellishments I still have to put away.
My Stampin' Up catalog and my received Christmas Cards.
The movies we currently have out from the library.
.
I am behind on some blog awards I have received, sorry everyone!
This first one I got from Scrappy Girl a couple months ago, and again yesterday from Melegs!
I got this one from Scrappy Girl a couple months ago too!
.
A little blog to catch up on too...
This first one is from Scrappin{jewlz}. It is the list 7 random things about you one. I think this is the 4th time I have gotten it, so I will try to come up with 7 new ones, lol!
1. I am afraid of spiders, like irrationally afraid! If I kill one, I expect his family to take out revenge on me, or it will come back to life and get me. I won't close my eyes in the shower, and I won't even let me cats chase them. I know none of this will really happen, but those thoughts do cross my mind.
2. I have always had an obsession with pens and office supplies. Maybe that is why scrapbooking appeals to me so much, lol!
3. I am addicted to Diet Coke.
4. I love Colin Firth!
5. I once got my driver's license suspended for too many tickets. It was suspended between midnight and 5 am, except for driving too/from work.
6. I met my husband online.
7. I was voted most likely to become a tele-evangelist my senior year in high school!
.
As for all these awards and tags, I am gonna have to pass on them for now, I have already nominated everyone I know and couldn't possibly find anyone else, lol! If you want to play, feel free and go for it, consider yourself tagged.
.
Oh yeah, for all those of you who wished me to have fun on Monday night, I wish I would have, we had to cancel it for snow. We will do it again next week. As for the snow, we still have it which is odd for us, and we are supposed to be getting more today. Below freezing temps all week, our road is still ice covered, I am starting to get cabin fever, lol! Don't get me wrong, I do love it!!

Some Blog Business...

My blog buddy, Scrappy Girl gave me an award! I got this for being sweet and commenting on her blog during the first month of it's debut! I thought it would be fun to do the same thing.
.
My first month I only had two posts and 3 comments...
Maritza
Julie @ Scrapperdays
.
I can't just leave it at that, I am going to include the next month as well, since these people helped me start my blog as well!
Those without blogs...
Gloann
Kelli
Suzeyq
AFScrapperMom
.
Those with blogs...
Christina @ Inarascraps
Elizabeth @ My Scrappy World
Bodegalle @ Scraps Of Time
.
Thank you ladies for being so sweet to me on my blog as I was starting out!
.
Scrappy Girl also tagged me! I haven't been tagged in a while, so here it goes...
Rules are above, they are basically the same as other tagging games!
  1. All I do all day long is scrapbook, read scrappy blogs, and chat on scrappy message boards.
  2. I secretly listen to Barry Manilow-I guess it not a secret anymore, lol!
  3. In high school, I wrote Richard Simmons a letter, asking him to pay for me to go to his "fat camp". What can I say, I was desperate!
  4. I vomitted on my wedding day, I was so nervous! I hate being on display.
  5. My mom used to tell me not to put money in my mouth, I would end up swallowing it and get sick. I didn't want to go to school, so I tested her theory and swallowed 3 pennies. Let me just say, I didn't get sick and still had to go to school!
  6. I eat grilled chocolate sandwiches! Trust me, they are yummy. They are just like grilled cheese, only you use a Hershey's chocolate bar instead of cheese! Tigardlilly knows, she has had them (come on, back me up on this!)!!
  7. In junior high, I was using Nair to thin my eyebrows...well some of it "globbed" over my eyebrow and I only had half of an eyebrow. I tried to cover it up with a band-aid, LOL!

OK, who should I tag??? I will tag all the people above who commented during the beginnings of my blog! If you see your name above, you are officially tagged!!

Remember This???

I did it for a challenge over at Scrapbook Cafe. They are a scrapbook store in NJ. I submitted this layout using Webster's Pages and a summer theme (the requirements) and I woke up today with this email...
"Marilyn, Congratulations you are our Websters Challenge Winner. Your layout wil be featured on the home page of our site and you will receive our gift pack of Scrapbook Supplies worth over $100.00..."
I am so excited. I figure since it will be featured and the prize is so large, that it is based on technique rather than random drawing! If this be true, than I have won my first real "TOOT"! I can now start my scrapbooking resume! Don't get me wrong, I still love the "random drawing" challenges and I still get excited when I win, but this is WAY cool!! It doesn't even matter that it is just a store in NJ, it still counts!! I would love to share the blog on my list, but they don't have one. Now I need to get in the habit of actually going to the website to check it....unless I can subscribe to a website......NOPE, just tried, oh well!
Thank you Scrapbook Cafe!!
UPDATE: I just rechecked thier website, and my layout is there with a link to my blog and they said it was a panel of judges, WOO HOO! Thank You!!

I got a RAK today, from Chrispea for her AMR August online crop challenge! I woke up with this surprise today! Thanks Chris!
.
This is a challenge I did for AMR. This is for the week 3 in August's challenge, using a sketch. My brother Matt, picked up everything dead he could find! First he found a whole piece of kelp (seaweed) and proceeded to use it as a whip! He did get himself with it too! Then it was a half-eaten Dungeness Crab, ewww! Lastly there was the cluster of Mussels! I mispelled both of the last 2 mentioned. I will be going back and using labeling strips to cover my boo-boos.
I got this mini starfish last year at my LSS in thier bulk section. Isn't is just adorable??
There is still time to get your comments in on my 100th blog post RAK-here!
